The Trashiest Places On This Side of the Neponset

13 Jan

I like to think of Quincy as all beautiful, scenic place with sights that are as breathtaking as a double rainbow and the grand canyon after taking hallucinogenic drugs. But let’s not kid ourselves, Quincy has some pretty nasty places. Why not count down to the number one trashy place on this side of the Neponset River bridge?

10. The Quincy Center alley: The alley I speak of is right next to Payless/Texas Saloon and goes from the parking lot to Hancock St., and smells like pee. It’s a short alley way. But I don’t like the way I feel when I’m in that thing. You know, the feeling you get when you think you’re walking on pee. 9. The Imperial Terrace Lounge: This is my favorite place to get Chinese food in Quincy. But why would anyone want to sit in the lounge? If I wanted to sit in the lounge at a Chinese food joint, I’d go to Gourmet Oriental in Weymouth, where it’s almost acceptable to do so. Or maybe it’s not, maybe it’s just ghetto that I’ve done so myself. 8. The Sidewalk Festival: It’s like Tijuana with white trash and maybe a couple of Asians scattered about. Just another day in Quincy Center, except there’s tents all over the place selling bullshit you don’t need and blocking off Hancock street. Shoplifters unite! Hooray!7. Wollaston Beach sand: I don’t know what’s in that sand.

6. The bus stop in front of the Family Dollar in Quincy Center: Well, have you ever drove/walked by it? Not pretty. The good news is, if you like attention, maybe you’ll get a cat call. 5. Walmart: The Walmart in any city would make the list of top 10 trashiest places. Nothin’ Peopleofwalmart.com hasn’t already proven.4. Quincy YMCA youth dances: I went to one of these things and lost my innocence due to the chaos that surrounded me. 13-17 year old’s dry humping (or maybe worse) all over the dance floor. Sweaty people grinding. I almost peed my sparkle pants and tripped over my Steve Madden Wedges while I was running out the door. Back to the St. Ann’s dances where I belonged.3. Ground Zero at St. Ann’s: What the fucking shit, dude! That was my part of my parish! My memories of taunting CCD teachers were in that building! So sad! 2. Quincy Center T: Home of drug dealers, trash of every race, stabbings, every person you could think of that you do not want to run into, and the bus headed to the mall. Quincy’s symbol of pride and excellence. Oh, wait, that’s actually North Quincy High I’m thinking of (ohhhh! hometown high school rival dig! Scalp the presidents!).

And now ladies and gentlemen, our numero uno:1. The Quincy Carnival: Awww, you were thinking it would end with the Quincy Center T station. Cute. But you were WRONG. The Quincy Carnival is the trashiest place on this side of the Neponset, guys. Filled with creepy/chester the molester carnies who rip you off, fist fights that include pretty much everyone from Germantown, and the Zipper that you see screws fall out of mid-ride. If you want fried dough just go to Tony’s or the Clam Box. If you want a caramel apple just make one your goddamn self. There’s crack in the ones at the Quincy Carnival anyways (a fact that I just made up).

HA this is the best! The alley. The things I’ve seen there walking back to my car. And it’s ALWAYS a sheet of ice (or pee) in the winter.

#11 The southern artery Stop and Shop…..

You can redo the floors and shelves but its still full of the trash de jour of Quincy. Always a regrettable decision. It may seem more convientien in the moment, but just drive to Newport ave. ” NO I don’t want to buy your food stamps so you can buy drugs!!!”

I used to work there in high school. Ouch. Hahaha you are very right. Especially about the food stamps.

I laughed out loud at #6:The bus stop in front of the Family Dollar in Quincy Center. That has to be the most sketchy bus stop. HAHA I cross the street to not have to pass by there.
