We Are All Winners!!!

3 Apr

Start this around the 1:20 mark.

Ahh. Adam Carolla nails it. This was a rant from last year, regarding the Occupy Movement, obviously. A little late but everyone should listen to it, because it’s still true. The entire country is getting pussier and pussier as time goes on. The funny thing is, I am barely 25 years old and I can see that. Everyone feels so entitled to things that they don’t deserve due to these “special emotional needs” they have growing up. But real life does not cater to special emotional needs, or to someone’s ego. In real life, the people who bust their asses for the prize are the ones who deserve the prize. And sometimes, it just comes easier to someone who is genetically “better” than the other guy. Sounds harsh, but that’s how life is. Are you a female on the side of the road with a flat tire? Odds are, if you are more attractive, you are likelier to receive assistance from someone passing by. Your ugly ass better break that tire jack out and start cranking. Sucks, right? Too bad, because that’s how it is and you can’t go out and sue everyone who drives by. I remember whining as a child to my dad, “But, that’s not faaaaiiiir!” if one of my siblings got something I didn’t have. And he would kind of laugh at my childish naivety regarding the world, and nicely say, “Well, life isn’t fair!”. Never the answer a child wants to hear, but it’s one that they need to hear and remember later in life. The whole “everyone gets a trophy” mentality is bullshit. The best athlete gets the trophy. The guy who busts his ass in graduate school gets the good job. Or GIRL who busts her ass in grad school, calm down feminists, don’t call me out for saying “guy” first. If life doesn’t come easy to you, bust your ass and make it easier on you. If you aren’t willing to bust your ass, then sit down and shut the fuck up and accept the fact that you aren’t going to get the trophy, or the amazing job, or the money. Bullying. Kids bully everywhere. It’s been going on since before me. I’ve seen it first hand, I’ve been the bullied, I’ve been the bully. Hasn’t everyone? We are humans and we make mistakes and sometimes fall victim to the mistakes of others. But does that mean it’s okay to take the role of victim into our adult lives and use it as an excuse? Don’t get me wrong, when a kid is being harassed at school day in and day out for his/her sexual orientation, or looks, or differences, then yeah, there needs to be some intervention and punishment. But anti-bullying campaigns that spread this idea of bullying being a new and growing trend in schools that is killing everyone…is that completely true? I mean, does anyone else think the media blows this shit up? Terrible things happen, I’m not minimizing that. But the extent to which this has gone is insane. Shall we sue the 3rd grade bully for tripping the fat kid? No. Intervene and punish the kid appropriately. He’s a fucking kid and kids are known for dumb-ass behavior from time to time. I’ve been bullied, and I don’t feel the need to go out and protest the houses of those who did the bullying and blame them for my fuck ups in life. Own your fuck ups and build some character and move on with your life without your stupid trophy. It means nothing anyways if you don’t earn it. Aim higher next time around, bust your ass and get a better trophy. Unless you’re in the mood to sit in a tent with 100 other smelly people, bitching, and watching as the people who work in the financial district rise and grind and earn their keep. All the while spending tax dollars. The economy might be fucked up, and certain people might have helped fuck it up. But is it their fault that you are a slob who wasn’t in the mood to fill out a job application because you felt like you were above the position you didn’t even apply for? All of these people are bitter, self-entitled, and have a lack of understanding of life. Sometimes life isn’t nice and you have to get out of bed in the morning and make it nicer and make it easier for yourself. And even then life can get in your way, but you work around it because no one cares about whatever it is you are bitching about. If you’re not willing to work for something, remember that YOU made that choice. Not George W. Bush. Not the bully from the 6th grade who said you had a zit on your face. You did have a zit on your face, but that bully was a douchebag and probably still is. Does that still affect you? If so, you are the people I am ranting about.

Adam Carolla for president.

To your point of the over-hype of the media, you should read a great book by Daniel Gardner – The Science of Fear.

He breaks down how we are in fact living in the greatest age of human history, especially if you are blessed to live in North America.

I will definitely check that out! I love that kind of stuff. The media makes everything seem so much worse. Thanks for reading!

I just can’t stand smelly hippies or democrats .

    • A. Michael October 5, 2012 at 1:33 pm #

The hippies became extinct in the early 1970s. Where have you been?

Some people think they will become Donald Trump. You don’t get it. American’s are beguiled and manipulated by the powers that be, government, corporate, the one percent. You probably think you have a choice for president! And who is your choice? Sarah Palin and the like!

    • Molly October 5, 2012 at 1:39 pm #

I don’t like Sarah Palin. I’m an Independent. I don’t think I have a choice for president. Has anyone ever told you what happens when you assume?
